5.8/10

My stay at The Maxwell was a mix of great moments and frustrating downsides. The location is fantastic, putting me right in the heart of Manhattan, which made exploring the city so easy. However, I faced significant issues with the lifts, which often left me waiting far too long, and the breakfast options were overpriced and underwhelming.

Rooms
6.0
The room I eventually settled into was quite comfortable and spacious, perfect for a couples getaway, especially after switching rooms a few times due to different issues.
Service
5.0
While I encountered a helpful staff member who got me tickets for a hockey game, my experience with management was not great. They were rude when addressing payment issues, which soured my stay.
Location
8.0
The location was absolutely perfect! Right on Lexington and close to major tourist spots like Central Park and Times Square made it easy for me to explore the city.
Dining
5.0
Dining options at the hotel left much to be desired; the breakfast was especially pricey and lacked variety, making it a bit of a disappointment.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities were adequate, but the attention to detail could be improved. I encountered noisy ventilation in my room, which detracted from my comfort.

6.8/10

I had a pleasant stay at The Maxwell New York City, thanks to the helpful staff and the hotel's prime location close to popular attractions. However, I was disappointed by the lengthy wait for breakfast and unexpected room charges. Overall, it was a good experience but had a few hiccups that could easily be improved.

Rooms
8.0
The rooms were comfortable and clean, but I did notice that some furnishings in common areas looked old and in need of attention.
Service
8.0
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They did seem to overlook some of the benefits available to guests, which was disappointing.
Location
9.0
Location is perfect! Being on Lexington and close to 5th Avenue made it convenient for getting around and visiting nearby attractions.
Dining
7.0
The breakfast had long wait times which led me to dine elsewhere. While the food was decent, it felt unnecessary to pay for what should have been complimentary.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel offers good facilities like room service and laundry, although there were some issues with breakfast timing during my stay.

6.8/10

My stay at The Maxwell had its ups and downs. The location was fantastic for exploring New York, but I encountered several issues with the service and room amenities. Overall, it was a mix of a great spot and some frustrating aspects.

Rooms
6.2
I found my Superior Queen Room spacious and clean, although I was disappointed by the lack of available outlets. I had to unplug lights to charge my phone, which was inconvenient (especially when traveling).
Service
5.0
The staff seemed polite and accommodating when I called ahead about my needs. However, the front desk didn't answer when I needed assistance during my stay, which was frustrating. It felt like they weren't attentive enough overall.
Location
8.3
The location was a huge plus! I appreciated being close to Times Square, the Empire State Building, and many great shops. It made my trip much easier and enjoyable.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast options were quite limited, and starting service at 7:00 AM didn't work for my schedule. I ended up going out for coffee and breakfast from nearby places instead.
Facilities
5.0
While the hotel offered room service and dry cleaning, the overall cleanliness could use some improvement. I noticed issues like a filthy men's restroom in the lobby that raised some concerns about hygiene.

6.0/10

My stay at The Maxwell was mostly enjoyable due to its fantastic location and the spacious rooms. Unfortunately, I encountered a few drawbacks, such as slow lift service and disappointing dining options. However, the staff were friendly and responsive, making the experience more pleasant overall.

Rooms
8.0
I eventually enjoyed a spacious penthouse suite, which had amazing views. However, the initial room had a cannabis smell that was concerning (especially with a pregnant partner).
Service
9.0
The staff were genuinely friendly and willing to help, especially when Kevin from management promptly addressed my issues during the stay.
Location
10.0
The location is absolutely perfect for exploring Midtown Manhattan, with major attractions and eateries all within walking distance.
Dining
5.0
Dining options were quite underwhelming; the breakfast was overpriced and not worth it, and the cocktails were poorly made (my mojito was a letdown).
Facilities
6.0
The fitness center was nice, but the lift service was frustrating. I sometimes waited too long to go up or down the floors.

7.2/10

My stay at The Maxwell was a mixed bag. The location was spot-on, making it super easy to explore tons of touristy spots. However, I had a few maintenance issues, like a dusty room and some unexpected noise due to nearby construction, which really threw me off. The dining experience didn't impress me either, considering the high price tag for breakfast.

Rooms
5.0
The Cozy Queen room was cute but a tad cramped for my liking, especially without a proper wardrobe. I did notice some dust and even a hair in the shower, which was a definite letdown.
Service
5.5
The staff could have been a bit nicer, to be honest. I experienced some moments where their responses felt almost rude when I was trying to address some issues.
Location
9.0
This hotel's location absolutely rocks! I could easily walk to The Four Seasons and other major attractions like Times Square. Perfect for a first timer in NYC.
Dining
5.5
The breakfast was just okay, and honestly, not worth the steep price. The setup was also chaotic, making the experience pretty frustrating.
Facilities
6.0
While they offered some nice facilities like room service and laundry, I missed having a coffee machine in the room and free Wi-Fi. It just felt a bit outdated and not very accommodating.
